Parking and Transportation for a Springfield Night Out

By SGF After Dark Editorial DeskPublished Last reviewed Methodology

This is the guide where we have the least verified information, and we would rather say that plainly than pad it out. Almost none of the venues in this ranking publish parking information on their own sites. Here is what we can actually stand behind.

What we could not verify

No venue in this ranking publishes parking guidance on its own website. We checked. The Regency Live's site does not state parking information, and neither does any other venue we assessed.

We are not going to fill that gap with guesses about which lots are free after which hour, because getting it wrong costs readers money. If a venue supplies verified parking information, we will publish it on that venue's profile and record the source.

The Downtown Springfield Association is the appropriate authority for current downtown parking rules, and its listings include a downtown parking operator.

What the geography tells you

The downtown core is genuinely walkable. Golden Girl Rum Club on Park Central Square, Bizarre Bar on Park Central East, The Regency Live on Park Central East, Hour House and Eyrie on South Avenue, Vantage on East Walnut, Nathan P. Murphy's on South Campbell and CTRL on South Patton are all within a short walk of one another. Park once.

Commercial Street is a separate district. Lindberg's Tavern and Moon City Pub are both on West Commercial, walkable from each other but not from downtown.

Club Rodeo on West Bennett Street, OXO on South Campbell Avenue, The Riff on West Sunset Street and MIX Ultralounge on East St Louis Street all require transport from downtown.

Planning around last call

A large share of the venues in this ranking close at 1:30 a.m. That means demand for rides spikes hard in a narrow window across the same few downtown blocks.

If you are relying on a rideshare, request it before last call rather than after, and agree a pickup point away from the busiest stretch of Park Central East with anyone you are travelling with.
